Tierra Del Sol Continuation High School

Joseph is an Independent Studies Teacher and has had 21 years in the KHSD with experience at BHS, CHS, various summer school locations, and now Tierra Del Sol. In January 2009, he began a new life direction and joined Weight Watchers. Over a course of 16 months, Joseph learned how to eat “right,” which meant that he didn’t have to give up the foods that he loved or not going out to eat. It simply meant that he had to be more aware of how the foods are prepared, the portions that are taken, and he had to be accountable for the food that was consumed. The person Joseph was before evolved to a better person in so many ways.  This journey is just a start even though it’s meant a 120.4 pound difference! Additionally, he is employed as a Leader for Weight Watchers and has helped many members in our community, including 7 who have reached 100 pounds or more of weight loss. Joseph has learned that it is much more than weight… and the focus should be “Beyond the Scale” and consider all aspects of life differently including self-fulfillment and activity.

Joseph spends his free time in the gym, conquering new travel experiences – especially if it involves a hike, snorkeling or running, and learning Spanish (his  4th language!) He loves cultures, people, and value family immensely.
